Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will start against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinals despite having been ruled out for up to three weeks after damaging ankle ligaments in the first leg.
UEFA on its Web site listed Rooney as United's lone striker for Wednesday's match at Old Trafford. United trails 2-1 from last week.
United manager Alex Ferguson said Wednesday that Rooney wouldn't start and was unlikely to be on the substitutes bench.
